Born in Hatfield, the same town as the first jet airliner, I started modelling at the age of three being influenced by my father. Over nine years I built various free flight models from chuck gliders to diesel power models. At the age of twelve I brought my first set of radio equipment and soon after built my first radio controlled slope soarer.
Sixteen was the age of my first I.C. Engine and powered RC model a Mick Reeves Gangster 63″. This was soon followed by a Chris Foss Acro-wot. In 1985 I saw my first ducted fan model and that was it, I was hooked on jets. The following year I built and flew a Paul Grey BAe Hawk followed by a Thorpe Brothers Mirage F1. Two years later I designed my own Mirage 2000 which plans I sold world wide.
I had a rest from modelling eight years and came back into turbines at the turn of the century. During my working life I attended many Boeing structural repair courses giving me in depth knowledge into composite structural repairs.
In May 2012 I finished full time work as an Aviation design Engineer and concentrated in building high end turnkey models as Pinnacle Aviation. Since May 2012 I have offered a full range of services, Building composite model kits, painting, weathering and composite repairs.
